Funding must go to research projects that address research priorities. What are these research priorities? Research priorities constitute the issues that companies, government, universities and individuals are experiencing . For instance, corruption in institutions, waste of water, violence among coworkers, etc. Therefore, these issues are relevant to explore and solve. It’s important to note that these issues must be explore and solve by experts on the topic. Consequently, it’s important to fund research groups composed by experts on the topic.
However, it’s difficult to know the issues that companies, government, universities and individuals are experiencing unless we don’t directly ask them. Therefore, OpenCiencia and Coideso want to acknowledge the issues in order to identify research priorities. Therefore, research groups can prioritize their work based on these research priorities.
